Going on medical mission with JHM GLOBAL Medical has been an eye opening experience for me as a young person aspiring to become a doctor. I was given an opportunity to experience MEDICINE in action with REAL people. Working and helping the professional nurses and doctors really gave me the inspiration to want to serve and help people as they do. This is the experience I needed to help me decide if I truly wanted to be a doctor or not. The accommodation was superb, food was excellent and the support staff were just marvellous. I thank you JHMG staff and my mission helpers! I am indebted to you for helping me see life through a different vision. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

What was amazing was that I did not expect that going to Kenya for my rotation/electives will be so rewarding. I though our hospitals here in the West has much more to offer except I got to experience genuine people, caring professional doctors and nurses who were quite prepared to teach, mentor, guide, explain and show me things I would not have learned in Chicago as an intern. I was more relaxed and able to get more done. I was welcomed and made to be a part of the team. My opinion counted and the corrections were sensitively carried out where I got it wrong or failed to see the signs & symptoms as I should. Medicine in Kenya has a human face, not too technologically dependent and the patients touched my heart even as I was learning to treat them. I thoroughly enjoyed my rotation in Africa! I am grateful that I was allowed to do my rotation through JHM Global. I cannot fault it at all.

It took me a long time to find a missions team that I felt comfortable with. I wanted a medical mission group that I can trust and who is reliable as I have never been to a foreign country for medical missions before.

I wanted to visit other nations and help out but I also wanted to be in safe hands and with godly people who was in it not-for-profit. I was introduced to JHM GLOBAL through my church. I love the work they already do in the nations for women and children and felt attracted to become a part of their mobile medical team last summer. What an amazing time I had? I enjoyed it and everything ran to schedule, it was fun to treat so many villagers who came out to receive free medical care. All the other doctors both local and international did an awesome work and truly cared for the people. I wish I could live among the natives and just help them all year round. One thing for sure is that, I will be back next year. Thank you guys for helping me give more of myself.
