    Dear Partner,
Welcome to JHM Global Pre-Complementary Medicine Internship!
Complementary Medicine comprises of healing practices "that does not fall within the realm of conventional medicine", or "that form of medical treatment that relies on alternative therapies to be effective for treating maladies and diseases. Complementary medicine or integrative medicine also refers to the interventions used in conjunction with mainstream medical techniques.

Complimentary medicine include but not limited to the following therapies/specialities:
Acupuncture Medicine, Accupresure Medicine, Chiropodists/Podiatric Medicine, Chinese medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Chiropractic Medicine, Homeopathic Medicine, Herbal medicine, Naturopathy, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Nutrition, Reiki, Shiatsu, etc.
Here are some questions worth considering:
1] How do you choose which area of complementary medicine to opt for as a career?
2] What EXTRA STEPS are you willing to take that will help you make the right choice?
3] What will make you stand out above the other students seeking to be accepted to study CAM?

    KNOWLEDGE OF MEDICINE COUNTS?
Many Complementary Medicine College applicants only have a general idea of what CAM is really about.
Most have not worked in a CAM environment before nor do they have a clear knowledge of what the fields trully entail. Most also have not really had the direct experience of walking in the steps of a Complementary therapist for an hour let alone for a week nor have they actually used CAM services. It is impossible to demonstrate genuine passion for the sick and dying whose last resort for relief are Complementary Therapies unless you get really close to such patients and have seen results from those who have used/tried CAM.
Complementary Medical school/college itself should not be the first place to discover what CAM is REALLY all about. You owe it yourself to have gained a first hand experience prior to enrolling in a complementary medical school/college.
