    Welcome to JHM Global Dentistry Rotation & Electives!
    The clinical rotation and elective programs are available through our JHM Global Medical partner hospitals as well as through our partner Dental clinics and Faith based dispensaries in Kenya, Uganda & India. We are thrilled that you are considering experiencing your dentistry clinical clerkship through us. You must the registered in an approved dentistry school/college program and have the written permission of the Director of Clinical Internship of your College/University in order to participate in our program.

    AVAILABLE COMPULSORY DENTISTRY ROTATION/ELECTIVES
    Oral Health & Development, Dental Public Health, Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Medicine, Primary Dental Care, Restorative Dentistry, Hygiene & Therapy, etc.

    VOLUNTARY DENTISTRY INTERNSHIPS/ELECTIVES AVAILABLE:
    Oral Health & Development, Dental Public Health, Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Medicine, Primary Dental Care, Restorative Dentistry, Hygiene & Therapy, etc.

    ROTATION/ELECTIVES DURATION
    Depending on the course curriculum you are following at your dentistry school. Rotations are available for durations of 2,3,4,6,8 or 12 weeks Maximum per rotation/Elective.

    By attending a DENTISTRY internship with us, you are able to:

    1] Gain valuable experience by shadowing several Dentists/Dental surgeons daily.
    2] Experience real clinical, surgical and hospital environment during your internship for 40-60hours Per Week.
    3] Have access to patients, patients records and be part of the treatment team in a dental hospital environment.
    4] Attend daily rounds under the supervision of a qualified & well experienced dentists.
    5] Be in a clinical environment where daily patient count is anywhere from 50-150 patients per day.
    6] Attend, observe & sometimes assist in Maxiliofacial Surgical operations at the hospital/clinic.
    7] Attend case evaluation sessions and treatment plan/management sessions.
    8] Attend workshops that gives you deeper insight into the particular speciality/sub-speciality.
    9] Have scheduled discussion sessions with dentistry healthcare workers.
    10] Participate in Mobile Dental Outreach to local villages & comunities.
    11] Get to experience your rotation/elective in a tropical medicine environment and gain more experience in so doing.
    12] Accompany a homecare dental health care worker on home visits to the sick in rural villages.
    14] Attend a final debriefing workshop before you depart the internship mission field.

    Private Dental Clinics/hospitals
    Dentistry Department of local General Hospitals
    Faith based Community Dental Hygeine Center.
    Hospitals/Clinics Locations:
    Minimum Age & Other Requirement
    Must be over Age 21+
    Must be enrolled in a Dentistry school/College or University.
    For Compulsory Rotation: You must be in year 3/4 of your dentistry Education.
    For Voluntary Rotation: You may be in any year of the dental school/University.
    Travel Vaccinations
    Check with your doctor and get all the vaccination you need to have.
    Student Malpractice Insurance
    You must arrange your own and send us proof when requested.

    £1,250 / US Dollars - $2,025 [2 weeks - 12 Days]
    £1,550 / US Dollars - $2,470 [4 weeks - 28 Days]

    Entry Visa, Flight & Travel Insurance Arrangements
    You must pay for your own flight, arrange your travel visa and & Travel Insurance, keeping to your travel dates. Assistance with flight booking can be provided if required.

    There is a Non-refundable deposit of $250 US Dollars per person. Payable upon acceptance.

    Things to bring with you:
    Stethoscopes, Sphygmomanometers & other useful dentistry apparatus consistent with your internship. Lab coat, Scrubs, Gogggles, Bible, a camera, a sun hat, sun glasses and mosquito repellent & personal hygiene needs.
